How to change the Point of View (POV)

Changing the POV/Perspective that your novel is written in.

Updated over a week ago

In Novelcrafter, you can change the POV for the entire novel, or for specific scenes. This information is used in the background prompts to instruct the LLM to write in the selected POV.

Changing the Novel POV

If you want to change the point of view (POV) for the entire novel:

  1. Go to Novel Settings in the top left corner (the cog (⚙) icon).

  2. Go to the Writing tab.

  3. Under Point of View, select the type and character.

Changing the POV for a Specific Scene

To change the POV for a specific scene (for example, if you are writing in multiple POVs, or have a one-off perspective change):

  1. In the plan or write interface, select the actions menu (the three dots).

  2. Select set custom POV

  3. Choose the desired perspective

Once you have selected a POV, it is saved, so that next time you need to use that perspective, there is a shortcut available for it.
